Starting point for the most beautiful excursions in the fascinating kingdom of the Dolomites

From its privileged position, arranged on a large and sunny terrace, Vigo di Fassa dominates the entire valley

With a wonderful panoramic view ranging from Cima Undici and Cima Dodici to Sella and Marmolada, is located the town of Vigo di Fassa (1,380 above s.l.), at the feet of the Catinaccio massif, in a central position with respect to the valley.

From the quiet walk through the woods to the climbs, those who love the mountains will surely find the path with an ideal degree of difficulty for their skills and orientation.

With a modern cableway leaving directly from the village of Vigo di Fassa, you get to the "panoramic balcony" of the Ciampedie at 2,000 m, which offers an amazing view up to the Pale di San Martino. The ski season here begins at the end of November (in case of no snowfall, artificial snow is guaranteed) and stops at the end of April.

In Vigo di Fassa, part of "The most beautiful villages in Italy", there is also the Ladin Cultural Institute, which studies and protects the ancient Rhaeto-Romanesque language and culture. In Ladin language, the name of the village is "Vich de Fascia".
